EXPERT COMMENTS - MEDIA HYPE

An article in on of the English daily's gave a very good insight into how media creates a hype out of everything, it said something like Former Indian cricketers and former internationals cricketers speculating and commenting on the way Sachin Tendulkar plays.

Somebody should go and ask them about there records when they played and then compare them to Sachin's records...

Mr. Ian Chappell is just trying to salvage some pride for his brother Mr. Greg Chappell by writing articles titled “Look into that Mirror Sachin”, and “Tendulkar should consider retiring”. Well Mr. Ian Chappell we are all now well versed with your creative writing skills but would you mind keeping your thoughts and comments about others to yourself and concentrate on your life.

And our media is the one to be blamed for all this, have we forgotten about whom we are talking about, its a man who has carried hopes and expectations of 100 million people for more than two decades now, yes sir here I am talking about Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar...

Two days ago Mr. Chappell was praising Brain Charles Lara, saying that he is the best batsman in the world ( some mirror told him ), well no doubt that Lara and Tendulkar have been going through a lean phase, but we cannot question there loyalty towards the game. After the West Indies lost to Sri Lanka, Mr. Chappell would now have something more to write about and media will have some new masala, very shortly we can expect to see a huge write-up with titles like –

GIANTS ON THERE WAY OUT – LARA AND TENDULKAR

There will be public opinion polls, effigies would be burnt, former cricketers will cry there opinions out, and news channels will have a field day (talking to Lara’s dog and Sachin’s cat), analyzing last previous years stats and blah blah blah … Please give these people a break and let them play…

Navjot Singh Sidhu says that public memory is very short in India, and the next time Sachin scores a hundred people will forget everything , but I want to ask all these people that why should it come to such a scenario, this guy has played for his country for such a long time, its his profession , after all to err is human…

HAVEN’T WE EVER DONE SOMETHING WRONG WHEN WE ARE WORKING, HASN’T OUR BOSS BEEN ANGRY WITH US…

So why different rules for cricketers, they have had a bad project (“WORLD CUP”)
Why not wait patiently and give them another chance.

How can we ever dream of questioning credentials of someone of Tendulkar’s stature, its really disheartening to see our own people behaving in such a manner and media adding fuel to the fire by announcing public opinion poll results, in which not more than 2 percent of our population has taken part and giving them titles such as ‘Junta ki Aawaz’. In India cricket is a religion and we have give these cricketers place in our hearts so disappointment is natural, but being disappointed doesn’t mean that we ridicule them and get there heads chopped off…

People calling for Sachin’s retirement, will there be someone to fill in his shoes, if tomorrow Sachin, Sourav and Dravid and Sehwag they all retire who will take there place in the team, mind you we will find beating even Bermuda difficult after that…

Let us all be patient and give our team a little time, let the new coach take over and let us pray that and hope that our MEN IN BLUE MAKE US ALL PROUD…

And about Little Master, please stop worrying about him, he is Head and Shoulders above others and knows best what is to be done.
